Leather-Covered Studded Chest. Dutch or Flemish, late 17th/early 18th. Century
€ 3.250,00
A rare rectangular chest covered in its original dark leather, extensively decorated with hand-applied brass studs forming stylized floral and geometric motifs. The chest retains its original wrought-iron carrying handles, hinges, and lock plates, contributing to its authentic period character.
The leather has developed a rich patina over centuries of use, with expected age-related wear, minor shrinkage, and cracking consistent with its age. The decorative studwork remains remarkably well preserved. A highly decorative and practical storage chest, well suited for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Condition:
Good antique condition with wear, surface cracks, and minor losses to the leather consistent with age and use. The chest displays an attractive untouched patina.
