Antique European Wild Boar Trophy Head, circa 1930
€ 1.150,00
Striking antique European hunting trophy depicting the head of a mature wild boar (Sus scrofa), dating to circa 1930.
The highly expressive taxidermy mount is presented with the mouth open, revealing the characteristic tusks and teeth. The natural coarse bristles are exceptionally well preserved, with dark, elongated hair around the ears and neck adding to its powerful appearance. The carefully set glass eyes create a remarkably lively expression.
The head is mounted on a traditionally shaped wooden trophy shield with a warm, richly aged surface. Its impressive size and dramatic character make it an outstanding decorative object for a country house, hunting lodge, library, study or eclectic European interior.
A particularly characterful example of early 20th-century European hunting taxidermy, combining strong sculptural presence with authentic period craftsmanship.
