Louis XVI Style Demi-Lune Console – Painted and Gilt, Probably Italian, 20th Century
An elegant Louis XVI style demi-lune console, finely decorated with painted and gilt finishes. The piece is distinguished by its beautifully pierced frieze featuring a continuous double guilloche motif, complemented by delicately carved floral rosettes and subtle polychrome accents that enhance its refined neoclassical character.
The wooden top is also painted, creating a harmonious balance with the decorative treatment of the base. The slender fluted legs are joined by a gracefully curved stretcher, emphasizing the elegant proportions and sophisticated craftsmanship of the piece.
Based on its construction, decoration, and finish, this console is likely of Italian origin. It represents a refined 20th-century interpretation of the Louis XVI style, combining classical elegance with decorative appeal.
